The figure below shows the life cycle of a VPA verification transaction.

The table below lists the various status in the account verification life cycle and gives a brief description of each status.
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Success ( success) | The VPA handle (UPI ID) provided by you is valid. The response also contains the account holder’s name. You can check the name returned by the API with the name in your database and decide if you can make a transfer to the account. |
| Failed ( failed) | The VPA handle (UPI ID) provided by you is incorrect. The response also contains a message parameter that contains the reason for the failure as given to us by the bank. |
